New Year’s Date – 2005

This beautiful, big armful of a bear measures 24”. He is made of 1” Schulte golden blond mohair and also of Schulte alpaca…short, dense, burgundy on his foot and paw pads. He is one of a kind. He comes with a vintage SAKS silk burgundy bow tie and an antique platinum rimmed saucer champagne glass for celebrating the New Year in. Attention: All Washington Redskins Football team fans…the colors used for this bear are also the Redskins’ colors!!! $350

Halloween Bear

This adorable 12” bear is made of a deep orange mohair with dark tips. His eyes are antique shoe buttons. He comes to your home with his trick or treat pumpkin (the basket he is in is NOT included). $115

Cotton Candy Bear

This is a beautiful 24” sweetheart!! Her coat is a pale dusty pink curly mohair with a raspberry backing. Her face has the sweetest classic expression!! Her inner ears, muzzle, foot and paw pads are hand scissored to be sure the colors are coordinated. She comes with a pretty vintage embroidered collar. $225

 

 

Big Emma and Little Emma

Here is a lovely pair of bears made of vintage crewel embroidery fabric and mohair. Big Emma is 24” and Little Emma is 12” in size. The mohair is called Country red and has a blue backing, which shows through where the mohair has been hand scissored. The crewel fabric has colorful tulips embroidered on an off-white cotton. The colors go beautifully together. This fabric combination is a different approach to materials used in bear making. All of my previous crewel/mohair 24” bears are in collector homes. Big Emma goes to her new home with a very pretty vintage rabbit fur collar embellished with faux pearls. Little Emma goes with her vintage satin ribbon (about 50 years old). $325

 

Bridges

This is a 12” bear with a fantastic 1” coat of an alpaca/mohair blend in a delicious pale sage green color…just wait until you get your hands on this deep, luxurious fur!! This handsome little bear was named Bridges because his facial expression reminds me of a smiling Beau Bridges or Jeff Bridges. He has brown wool felt foot and paw pads and antique shoe button eyes. $185

 

Oliver

Here is a 13” mohair bear named Oliver the Outdoor Bear. His fur is a golden moss color (similar in color to early bears made by Steiff or Chiltern). To brave the winter weather, he comes with a wool plaid scarf and has matching wool plaid foot and paw pads. He is delightful!! $125

 

Prayerful Bear

This is a special 24” mohair bear. His fur is a short, dark multicolored German mohair. His amber eyes with black pupils are of German handblown glass. He has ultrasuede foot and paw pads. Prayerful Bear wears a vintage Victorian hard collar and a handmade wooden cross. Not your ordinary teddy bear!! $200

 

Sailor Bear

This handsome big bear is really hard to photograph, but is soooo lovely in person!! He is 24” tall with a dark navy blue wavy mohair coat. His eyes are German handblown deep blue with black pupils. His foot and paw pads are a tan ultrasuede. Sailor Bear comes with a new sailor romper and cap from Good Lad of Philadelphia. He will go to his new home with his favorite toy sailing ship. $210
